Abstract
Dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological complaint among adolescent girls and has the potential to affect multiple aspects of quality of life, including physical, psychological, social relationship, and environmental domains. During adolescence, menstrual pain may interfere with daily activities and developmental processes if it is not adequately managed. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of dysmenorrhea pain and quality of life among eleventh-grade female students at SMA Negeri 6 Kota Tangerang Selatan. This study employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 80 female students selected based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The level of dysmenorrhea pain was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), while quality of life was assessed using the World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s rho correlation test. The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced moderate dysmenorrhea pain (55%). Spearman’s correlation analysis indicated that there was no significant association between the level of dysmenorrhea pain and quality of life across all quality of life domains (p > 0.05). This study concludes that the level of dysmenorrhea pain is not significantly associated with quality of life among eleventh-grade female students at SMA Negeri 6 Kota Tangerang Selatan, which may be influenced by adolescent age, nutritional status, as well as adequate adaptation and coping abilities toward menstrual pain.
