Abstract
The banking industry has a strategic role in supporting sustainable development through the implementation of green banking. This study aims to examine the implementation of green funding and green financing in KBMI 4 banks during the 2023–2025 period. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using secondary data obtained from annual reports, sustainability reports, and official publications of Bank Mandiri, BRI, BNI, and BCA. The findings indicate that the implementation of green banking in KBMI 4 banks has been carried out through green funding and green financing activities. In terms of green funding, Bank Mandiri, BRI, and BNI have actively issued green bonds as sustainable funding instruments, while BCA has not specifically disclosed any green funding instruments in its sustainability reports. Regarding green financing, all KBMI 4 banks have consistently increased financing for environmentally sustainable sectors in accordance with sustainable finance principles. The study also reveals that the development of green financing is more significant than that of green funding, reflecting the strong commitment of KBMI 4 banks to supporting the transition toward a more sustainable economy.
