Abstract
Stroke is a disease that can cause physical, psychological, and social impacts that affect the quality of life of patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between family support and self-efficacy with quality of life in patients after their first stroke. This study used a quantitative cross-sectional research design with a total of 109 respondents using purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using the family support questionnaire by Riyadi and Ruhyana, the MKEDS questionnaire, and the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Descriptive test results showed that most respondents had family support, self-efficacy, and quality of life in the good category. There was a significant relationship between family support and quality of life (p-value < 0.001; r = 0.645) and between self-efficacy and quality of life (p-value < 0.001; r = 0.652), and they had a strong relationship with a positive direction. It can be concluded that family support and self-efficacy have a significant and positive relationship with quality of life in patients after their first stroke. The better the family support and self-efficacy in patients, the better their quality of life. Therefore, increasing family support and self-efficacy needs to be a focus in stroke patient rehabilitation in order to optimally improve the patient's quality of life.
