Abstract
Sepsis is a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) that requires prompt management through the implementation of the 1-Hour Sepsis Bundle; however, its implementation has not been optimal and influenced by nurses’ behavior. Such behavior is affected by several factors, including knowledge, attitude, workload, and interprofessional team communication. This study aimed to analyze factors influencing nurses’ behavior in implementing the 1-Hour Sepsis Bundle in the ICU of RSUD Cibinong, Bogor Regency. This study employed a quantitative analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Total sampling was used, involving 65 ICU nurses. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed significant associations between knowledge (p-value = 0.003), workload (p-value = 0.023), and interprofessional team communication (p-value < 0.001) with nurses’ behavior in the implementation of the 1-Hour Sepsis Bundle. Meanwhile, attitude was not significantly associated with nurses’ behavior (p-value = 0.203). In conclusion, nurses’ behavior in implementing the 1-Hour Sepsis Bundle is influenced by both individual and organizational factors. Therefore, improving nurses’ competencies, optimizing workload management, and strengthening interprofessional team communication are essential to enhance the quality of care and patient safety for sepsis patients in the ICU.
