Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a common menstrual disorder experienced by women of reproductive age; however, research on its risk factors among female workers remains limited, despite its impact on productivity and psychological well-being. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of dysmenorrhea among female non-medical workers at Hospital X, East Jakarta, in 2025. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional study design was employed. A total of 100 respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires covering individual characteristics, WaLIDD score, The Workplace Stress Scale, and IPAQ-sf. The results showed that 82% of respondents experienced mild to severe dysmenorrhea. Several individual and occupational factors were associated with dysmenorrhea. Multivariate analysis indicated that family history was the dominant factor associated with dysmenorrhea (adjusted POR=9.241; 95% CI: 2.667–32.017). Female workers with a family history of dysmenorrhea were 9.2 times more likely to experience dysmenorrhea than those without such history after controlling for other variables. These findings emphasize the importance of promotive and preventive occupational health interventions, particularly through early screening and reproductive health education in the workplace, to minimize the impact of dysmenorrhea on productivity and work-related well-being.
