Abstract

Work stress is a state of pressure that causes physical and mental imbalance, affecting emotions, thot processes, and the worker's condition. The work environment plays a crucial role in triggering work stress, especially in the construction industry, which is known for its high work pressure due to occupational hazards, productivity demands, and job complexity. In 2025, Indonesia ranked eighth with a work stress level of 15%, indicating that work stress remains a significant occupational health issue. In previous studies, 70% of workers in the construction sector experienced work-related stress, with the main triggers ranging from high workloads and tight deadlines to a lack of control over their work. This study aims to analyze the relationship between organizational climate conditions and work stress in workers at PT X's construction sector in 2025, and to develop recommendations for occupational health management as a means of preventing and controlling work stress. This study uses a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach, with a sample size of 96 workers at PT X. The study utilizes the Workplace Stress Scale (WSS) as the instrument for measuring work stress and the Organizational Climate Questionnaire (OCQ) as the instrument for measuring organizational climate. The research results indicate that organizational climate (p=0.011) is related to work stress. However, age (p=0.906) and length of service (p=1.000) are not related to work stress. Companies are advised to conduct regular organizational climate evaluations and provide worker well-being programs such as counselling to prevent and control work-related stress.
