Abstract
Objective This study aims to map the neurocognitive characteristics of Conventional Executive Function (CEF) and Transcendental Executive Function (TEF) in a multicultural community in Pontianak using the Psychological Assessment for Spiritual Health and Brain Function Screening (PASH-BRAINS) instrument. Methods This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 142 respondents selected through stratified random sampling based on age group and education level. Data were collected through a validated PASH-BRAINS questionnaire and then analyzed statistically using univariate tests. Results Most respondents showed an FEK profile in the mild disorder category (47.9%), while the FET profile showed an optimal category (64%). The findings of this study indicate that the Pontianak community tends to have optimal transcendental resilience, which can serve as a compensatory mechanism for challenges to conventional executive functions. Conclusion The implications of these results emphasize the importance of a holistic approach to brain health that integrates cognitive, emotional, and spiritual aspects, and recommend the use of the PASH-BRAINS instrument as a screening tool.
