Abstract

This study aims to critique the societal reality deeply influenced by Maslow’s theory, particularly the belief that owning a house is a fundamental necessity. The research employs a humanis theocentric approach, which posits that the essence of human creation is to worship Allah. This status as servants of God serves as a critical analytical tool to challenge the prevailing notion in society that owning a house is obligatory. Consequently, the paradigm that owning a house is mandatory while performing Hajj is conditional upon one’s financial capability is a flawed perspective. Regardless of circumstances, people should not consider themselves wealthy in worldly matters while feeling impoverished in spiritual obligations.
