Abstract

This thesis discusses Mohammed bin Salman's foreign policy to face the challenges of Saudi Arabia's economic diversification. Saudi Arabia, which is a country that is highly dependent on oil as a source of income, realizes that they cannot continue to rely on oil exports alone. Therefore, during the Mohammed bin Salman government, Saudi Arabia began to focus on economic diversification to encourage other economic sectors of Saudi Arabia so that Saudi Arabia no longer only depends on oil. This began with the issuance of Saudi Vision 2030 as a vision that supports the process of Saudi Arabia's economic diversification. However, in this process of economic diversification, of course Saudi Arabia faces several challenges that must be overcome. Therefore, Mohammed bin Salman took several foreign policies that are expected to be able to answer the challenges of Saudi Arabia's economic diversification. The research method used in this thesis is descriptive qualitative research. The data needed in this study were obtained from literature reviews, interviews, and other primary sources that are relevant to this study. The results of this study indicate that the foreign policies taken by Mohammed bin Salman to face the challenges of Saudi Arabia's economic diversification have so far been quite successful in answering the challenges of Saudi Arabia's economic diversification process. The foreign policy that focuses on strengthening the tourism sector and Saudi Arabia's foreign diplomacy also shows the seriousness of Mohammed bin Salman to achieve the target of their economic diversification.
