Abstract

In the process of democracy, there is the presence of political dynamics such as political dynasties, which can be a threat to democracy for a country. The phenomenon of political dynasties under Joko Widodo's leadership is a major concern in political contestation, especially in the 2024 Presidential Election. Political dynasties are a challenge to democratic values because they show the defense of power in family ties. This study aims to determine the effect of Jokowi's Political Dynasty on the Participation of New Voters, especially for Political Science Students of UPN Veteran Jakarta, in Prabowo Gibran's victory in the 2024 Presidential Election. This study uses a quantitative method through a questionnaire filling method. Using a sample of 90 respondents, Political Science students of UPN Veteran Jakarta who are included in the category of new voters. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires based on a Likert scale. In analyzing the data, this study used validity, reliability, simple linear regression, correlation, and hypothesis testing tests with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study showed a significant influence on Jokowi's Political Dynasty with the participation of new voters. The results of the calculation of the simple linear regression test were 65% of the results of the determination coefficient calculation. Then, in the hypothesis test, the number of t counts was greater than the t table, which means that there is an influence between the Jokowi Political Dynasty on the Political Participation of New Voters of Political Science Students at UPN Veteran Jakarta in the Victory of Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 Presidential Election.
