Abstract

The caliber of human resources can be raised with an effective knowledge management system. Based on a survey conducted to students of the Faculty of Computer Science UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, 96.7% of students admitted that they often have to seek lecture information from other students directly, both related to academics and non-academics. A percentage of 93.3% of students also stated that information and experiences from fellow students play an important role in complementing lecturers' explanations, helping solve problems, and becoming additional learning references. However, students feel that the information is not well organized and difficult to access again. This research aims to design a website-based knowledge management system for students. The SECI model is applied in analyzing student knowledge management and the Rapid Application Development method is used to develop the system. The results of the research are expected to be able to meet the needs of students towards the implementation of knowledge management so that they can manage, access, and share knowledge efficiently through a website-based platform.
