Abstract

Non-Hemorrhagic strokes that occur in the cerebral blood vessels on the left side often cause aphasia. This condition is characterized by an inability to process language, such as difficulty speaking or understanding, which will have a significant impact on the sufferer's verbal communication. AIUEO vocal therapy nursing intervention is an intervention that can be used to address verbal communication disorders in stroke patients. This case study aims to analyze nursing care for non-hemorrhagic stroke patients with the application of AIUEO vocal therapy interventions to improve verbal communication skills. This research method used a descriptive case study design with 2 participants of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. The analysis focused on the nursing care process from assessment to evaluation and implementation of AIUEO vocal therapy with a frequency of five days of treatment and providing 2 sessions a day for 10-15 minutes. Communication was measured using the Derby Functional Communication Scale (DFCS). The results of the analysis showed an improvement in verbal communication skills in both patients. The conclusion of this study is that AIUEO therapy can improve verbal communication in stroke patients
