Abstract
Introduction: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases globally, including in Indonesia. Hypoglycemia is a common acute complication experienced by patients with type 2 diabetes and can be life threatening if not treated promptly and appropriately. Purpose: This study aims to identify appropriate nursing diagnoses and interventions for patients with type 2 DM and hypoglycemia using the SDKI (Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards) and SIKI (Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards) approach. Methods: The method used is a case study of Mrs. S, a 77-year-old patient hospitalized at RSPPN Panglima Besar Soedirman. Data were collected through interviews, observation, physical examination, and document review. Results: The assessment results showed decreased blo od glucose levels, general weakness, and reduced consciousness. The primary nursing diagnosis identified was the risk of blood glucose imbalance. Nursing interventions focused on monitoring blood glucose levels, administering glucose intake, and providing education to the patient and her family. Conclusion: This study highlights that the implementation of nursing diagnoses and interventions based on SDKI and SIKI significantly supports the systematic and effective management of hypoglycemia in type 2 DM patients.
