Abstract
The livestock feed industry in Indonesia faces challenges in providing high-quality feed ingredients at affordable prices. On the other hand, fishbone waste from the fisheries industry, which is rich in nutrients such as calcium and phosphorus, is often discarded due to the lack of efficient processing technology. This research aims to design and develop a hammer mill-type grinding machine to process fishbone waste into flour that can be used as raw material for livestock feed. The machine was designed using Autodesk Inventor software and manufactured through a process involving cutting, turning, drilling, welding, and assembly. Performance tests were conducted to evaluate the machine's grinding capacity and yield efficiency. The results show that the machine can produce fishbone flour with an average capacity of 2.51 kg/hour at a speed of 1680 rpm and a yield efficiency of 91.72% at a speed of 1008 rpm. This machine is expected to be an innovative solution for utilizing fishbone waste while enhancing the efficiency of livestock feed production.
