Abstract

Male adolescents are more at risk of extramarital sexual behaviour than female adolescents, which is influenced by social norms, lifestyle, cultural background, and parental freedom and self-efficacy. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between family resilience and self-efficacy with reproductive health behaviour among adolescent boys at SMP Negeri ‘Z’ Parung Panjang in Bogor Regency. Analytic observation research design with cross sectional approach. The population of this study was 296 adolescent boys and a sample of 170 students with probability sampling technique with a stratified random sampling approach. The measuring instruments used were Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire (WFRQ), General Self Efficacy Scale (GSES), and Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH). Univariate data processing using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between family resilience and reproductive health behaviour with a p-value of 0.000 and a significant relationship between self-efficacy and reproductive health behaviour with a p-value of 0.022. The researcher concluded that there is a relationship between family resilience and self-efficacy with the health behaviour of adolescent boys. Adolescents need to pay attention to health related to their reproductive system by checking regularly to health facilities, avoiding risky behaviour such as dating, and doing positive activities with various hobbies
