Abstract

Health workers must have a perception of good hospital readiness and an adequate level of resilience in dealing with disasters considering that hospitals are vital objects that play an important role in the sustainability of the community against a disease or disaster. This study set out to ascertain if health workers' opinions of hospital preparedness and their degree of resilience in the face of disasters in one of Jakarta's national referral hospitals were related. The research method used was cross sectional with sample collection techniques, namely quota sampling for the nursing profession and convenience sampling for other health worker professions with a total of 369 health worker respondents working in one of the national referral hospitals in Jakarta and using the Kruskal Wallis test and the Chi-Square test. A questionnaire that has undergone validity and reliability testing serves as the research tool. With a P-value of 0.00 (p <0.05), the study's findings show a strong correlation between the kind of occupation and views of preparedness to the degree of resilience of health workers in dealing with disasters. The odds ratio results show that the type of profession and perceptions of readiness affect the level of resilience of health workers in facing disasters. For the purpose of improving the effectiveness of health workers' roles in catastrophe scenarios, it is anticipated that this study will give a broad overview of the extent of perceptions and resilience levels of health workers in handling disaster situations.
