Abstract
Postpartum blues is a significant health issue for mothers after childbirth, with a high prevalence in Indonesia, which can affect the quality of life of both mothers and their babies. This study aims to explore the relationship between fatigue and sleep quality with the occurrence of postpartum blues in postpartum mothers. The research employed a cross-sectional design, involving 120 respondents selected through non-probability sampling at Kalideres Subdistrict Public Health Center. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate statistical tests. The results revealed that the majority of mothers experienced high levels of fatigue (71.7%) and poor sleep quality (69.2%). Additionally, 76.7% of respondents exhibited symptoms of postpartum blues. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between fatigue (p = 0.000, 95% CI: 0.00-0.05) and sleep quality (p = 0.000, 95% CI: 0.00-0.05) with the occurrence of postpartum blues. This study highlights the importance of education and support for postpartum mothers in managing fatigue and improving sleep quality. Social support from families and healthcare providers is also crucial to prevent postpartum blues. Further research is recommended to investigate other contributing factors, such as psychosocial support and economic conditions.
