Abstract

Papua Province, with its abundant natural resources and high cultural diversity, still faces serious challenges in overcoming the problem of poverty. Various factors are interrelated, ranging from economic, social, cultural, to environmental aspects. This study aims to analyze the influence of population, human development index, and labor force participation rate on poverty in Papua Province. A total of 29 districts/cities in Papua Province will be used as samples during the 2013-2022 period. The data used is secondary from the official website of the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). This study uses a panel data regression method with a Random Effect Model (REM) as well as classical assumption and hypothesis testing using STATA 17. The results of the study show that individually, the population and human development index have a significant negative effect on poverty. Meanwhile, the level of labor force participation has a significant positive effect on poverty. The results of the study showed that the population, human development index, and labor force participation rate together had a significant effect on poverty
