Abstract
This research employs a quantitative methodology to examine the impact of the coal benchmark price (HBA), domestic market obligation (DMO), firm size, and exchange rate on the financial performance of coal companies in Indonesia. The sample for this study consists of 26 coal companies, selected using purposive sampling to ensure they meet specific criteria relevant to the research objectives. Hypothesis testing is conducted using panel data regression analysis, with EViews 12 software, at a significance level of 5% (0.05). The results indicate that only the HBA has a positive impact on financial performance, whereas the DMO, firm size, and exchange rate do not significantly influence financial performance. These findings provide valuable insights into the determinants of financial performance for coal companies, highlighting the critical role of the HBA while suggesting the minimal influence of the DMO, firm size, and exchange rate within the examined context.
