Abstract
The growing demand for halal cosmetic products drives the growth of this industry but also presents challenges related to product quality and safety. Limited knowledge and awareness of the halal concept among consumers, along with the prevalence of cosmetic products that fail to meet halal standards, pose threats to consumer trust. This study aims to analyze the influence of halal labels and product quality on purchasing decisions for halal cosmetics and examine the moderating role of consumer satisfaction in these relationships. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, with primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 137 respondents in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek) using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0. The results reveal that halal labels and product quality significantly influence purchasing decisions. However, consumer satisfaction has varying moderating effects: it weakens the relationship between halal labels and purchasing decisions but strengthens the relationship between product quality and purchasing decisions for halal cosmetics. These findings provide valuable insights for the halal cosmetics industry to enhance product quality and manage consumer satisfaction to drive purchasing decisions.
