Abstract
The prevalence of autism currently globally reaches 15-20 cases per 10,000 children or about 0.15-0.10% of total children. If we look at the data from BKKBN, it can be assumed that children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Indonesia increase by around 6,300-7,200 children per year. Some studies mention that nutritional status can be caused by several factors such as macronutrient intake, vitamin A intake, iron intake, sleep quality, picky eater behavior, and constipation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between macronutrient intake, vitamin A intake, iron intake, sleep quality, picky eater behavior, and constipation with nutritional status in ASD children in the Greater Jakarta area. This study used a cross-sectional design with cluster random sampling technique and a sample of 102 respondents. Data analysis used Spearman Rank and Pearson tests. The bivariate test results showed no association between protein intake (p=0.139), fat intake (p=0.139), carbohydrate intake (p=0.320), vitamin A intake (p=0.769), iron intake (p=0.481), sleep quality (p=0.436), picky eater behavior (p=0.871), and constipation (p=0.367) with the nutritional status of ASD children in Jabodetabek area. Parents are expected to pay attention to providing a more regular diet, reducing repetition of food types, and varying the composition of the types of food consumed so that the daily intake of ASD children is fulfilled. Keywords: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Macronutrient Intake, Sleep Quality, Constipation, Picky Eater.
