Abstract
Currently, technology has developed rapidly, as have payment instruments. One of these developments is credit cards. Credit cards are a non-cash payment tool that has been around for a long time in society to make transactions faster and easier. Credit cards are issued by banks. When using a credit card, when making a credit card transaction it does not deduct from your account balance, but the bank records it as a debt. This debt is what you must then pay every month. The parties involved in credit cards are the card issuer, card holder and merchant. However, due to certain events, there are parties who are not involved who make mistakes/fraud by using other people's credit cards, so that the actual credit card owner suffers losses. The type of credit card fraud that often occurs is identity theft. This occurs when someone uses your personal name, address and date of birth information to open an account in your name. The government should make special laws regarding credit cards more effective and banks and customers should be open to each other. What should you do if you are exposed to fraud/theft via credit card? What must be done is: 1. Contact the relevant bank. 2. Report fraud/theft to the Financial Services Authority (OJK). 3. Report fraud via Lapor.go.id 4. Report the account number that has been affected by fraud. 5. Make a report/complaint to the police station.
