Abstract

The change in the pharmaceutical paradigm from drug oriented to patient oriented means that pharmacists and pharmaceutical technical personnel have a very important role in patient health. Soft skills are personal and interpersonal behaviors needed for development and optimization of performance. Soft skills consist of two forms, namely the ability to manage oneself (intrapersonal skills) and to interact with other people (interpersonal skills). Soft skills abilities greatly influence professionalism abilities. This research aims to identify the relationship between student profiles and the soft skills of students in the UPNVJ Bachelor of Pharmacy Program after the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Campus Merdeka Mandiri Internship scheme. This research uses analytical observation methods with Chi-Square test relationship analysis. The sample used was a total sampling of 54 UPNVJ pharmacy study students. Based on data analysis, it was found that there was a significant relationship between GPA and family environment which influenced intrapersonal and interpersonal soft skills (Fisher Exact Test significance 0.001 and 0.000). The results of this study shows that there is a significant relationship between GPA and family environment and soft skills abilities, therefore they influence the development of thinking, action and social interaction abilities.
