Abstract

The problem of overnutrition in adolescents (10-18 years old) is quite high, namely >15%. A diverse food intake is known to reduce the risk of overnutrition in adolescents, while poor food intake such as foods high in sugar, fat, and sodium and low in fiber is known to increase the risk of overnutrition. This study aims to determine the relationship between sweet food habits, consumption of sweet foods, sweet drinks, and junk food with overnutrition in adolescents. This study is an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional method. The data analysis method in this study uses, univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The sample in this study amounted to 112 respondents taken using the stratified random sampling method. The results of the bivariate analysis using the chi-square test showed that there was no relationship between the habit of consuming food diversity (p=0,489), the habit of consuming sweet foods (p=0,766), the habit of consuming sweet drinks (p=0,926), and the habit of consuming junk food (p=0,608). It is hoped that adolescents can maintain good consumption habits, so that they can maintain their current normal nutritional status.
