Abstract
Adolescents will experience puberty. In adolescent girls, puberty is characterized by the onset of menstruation. During the menstrual phase, some adolescents feel pain in the lower abdomen called dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea can be caused by various factors such as body fat percent and nutrient intake. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body fat percentage, fat intake, iron, calcium and magnesium with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls at SMAIT Raflesia Depok in 2024. The research design used was a cross-sectional study. The samples in this study were 103 adolescent girls aged 14-18 years old in class X and XI at SMAIT Raflesia Depok who were taken using stratified random sampling method. The data analysis used was the chi-square test. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was a relationship between iron intake (p=0.009), calcium intake (p=0.006), magnesium intake (p=0.020) with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea and there was no relationship between percent body fat (p=0.349) and fat intake (p=0.616) with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea. This study shows that there is an association between iron, calcium and magnesium intake with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls at SMAIT Raflesia Depok in 2024.
