Abstract

Traffic accidents are events on the road that cannot be predicted, causing property loss and loss of life. There will be an increase in the number of traffic accidents in Banten Province in 2022. This research aims to analyze the factors related to the incidence of traffic accidents among Inter-City Inter-Provincial bus drivers in the Ciputat area in 2023. The research sample consisted of 162 drivers calculated using the Lemeshow formula with purposive sampling technique. This research used a cross-sectional study design and was processed using the chi-square test. The results of the analysis show that what is related to traffic accidents is the driving behavior factor (p-value = 0.001), while the factors age, length of service, knowledge and bus condition have no relationship with traffic accidents. Intercity and interprovincial bus operators need to pay more attention to the driving behavior of their intercity and interprovincial drivers by conducting driving safety training and connecting via CCTV and GPS.
