Abstract

Over nutritional status occurs due to an imbalance in the body related to the amount of food consumed and the activities carried out. This study aims to determine the relationship between junk food consumption and physical activity with nutritional status in adolescents at An-Nissa Izada High School, South Tangerang. This research uses a cross-sectional research design with a sampling technique, namely stratified random sampling. The sample used in this research was 101 students. Data collection in this study used a characteristic and physical activity questionnaire with GPAQ and conducted interviews using the SQ-FFQ formula for junk food consumption. The consumption of junk food analyzes the frequency, type and amount of junk food consumption for energy, carbohydrates, fat and protein. This research data was obtained using the chi-square test. The results of this research analysis show that consumption of junk food which is not related to nutritional status is divided into several parts, namely the category of frequency of consumption of junk food (p=0.885), the category of amount of energy consumed by junk food (p=0.290), the number of carbohydrates consumed by junk food (p =0.520), the amount of fat consumed by junk food (p=0.092) and the amount of protein consumed by junk food (p=0.092). However, there are research results that relate to more nutritional status, namely the type of junk food consumption (p=0.029) and physical activity (p=0.00).
