Abstract

Preparedness can be one of the efforts in disaster management to minimize losses arising from disasters. PT X Liquefied-Petroleum-Gas Fueling Station (LPGFS) has a high risk of fire incidents, which was assessed through risk evaluations. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence PT X workers’ fire preparedness. This study used a cross-sectional study design. This study was conducted in April–June 2024. The sampling method used was total sampling, involving the entire population of 62 workers. Primary data were collected using questionnaires containing questions related to the characteristics of the respondents, preparedness, knowledge and training which were filled out directly by the workers at PT X. Data were analyzed using a chi-square test. The results show that 77.4% of workers had a high level of fire preparedness. There was a correlation between age (p-value = 0.040), basic education (p-value = 0.033), knowledge (p-value = 0.015) and training (p value = 0.000) with fire preparedness. In conclusion, age, basic education, knowledge and training contribute to fire preparedness. It is recommended that PT X improve worker preparedness and increase awareness of fire risks in the workplace through fire preparedness procedures.
