Abstract
Overnutrition in adolescents is a complex problem in recent years whose prevalence continues to increase. The reason why teenagers have more nutritional status is a large and unbalanced food intake, such as consuming high-calorie, high-fat and high-carbohydrate foods, frequently consuming fast food and consuming sweet foods/drinks, as well as a lack of physical activity. Adolescents with poor nutritional status can not only increase the risk of degenerative diseases in the future but can also cause major social and emotional problems in adolescents. The aim of this research is to find out the relationship between screen time, consumption of sweetened drinks and breakfast habits with nutritional status in adolescents at An-Nisaa Izada High School. This research uses a cross-sectional design study. The sample in this study was 103 people who were students in classes X and XI at SMA An-Nisaa Izada Tangerang Selatan and were taken using stratified random sampling. Bivariate analysis results using the chi-square test. The research results showed that there was a relationship between screen time habits and overnutrition (p=0.033), there was a relationship between the consumption of sweetened drinks (p=0.002) and overnutrition and there was a relationship between breakfast habits (p=0.031) and the incidence of overnutrition. Teenagers are advised to limit screen time activities, limit consumption of sweetened drinks, and maintain breakfast habits to prevent an increase in nutritional status.
