Abstract
This study aims to identify strategies and concrete actions that can be implemented by the government, relevant institutions, and local communities to enhance the effectiveness of landslide disaster management in Deli Serdang Regency. The method used is qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The researcher utilized the Miles and Huberman data analysis model, which consists of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the local government, especially the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), has played a key role in prevention, mitigation, rapid response, and rehabilitation. However, challenges in inter-agency coordination and community participation remain a focus for improvement in the future. The decision-making process of BPBD in allocating budgets and resources for mitigation, disaster response, and post-landslide recovery involves complex factors such as geographical conditions, community participation, and limitations in human resources and equipment. The potential conflicts related to spatial planning and land use are also identified as factors influencing disaster management efforts, where political interests may play a role.
