Abstract
This research examines the development of Cikolelet Tourism Village in relation to participatory democracy conducted by the village community and village government. The case study in this research refers to how the implementation of participatory democracy can influence the development of the Tourism Village and the extent to which community involvement can improve village welfare. The research method used is a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation of the research site, and documentation studies. The research participants consisted of the village head, representatives of the village government, members of the tourism awareness group (pokdarwis), and local communities involved in the tourism village development programme. The results showed that community involvement in the planning and implementation of the tourism village programme has improved the quality of village infrastructure, environmental cleanliness, and the number of tourists visiting. In addition, the active participation of the community also encouraged the emergence of various local innovations and increased the income of villagers. This research confirms that the implementation of participatory democracy has a significant positive impact on village development and community welfare.
