Abstract
Infection prevention and control is aimed at preventing and reducing infection in healthcare. Preliminary studies found obstacles to supervision due to the lack of full-time IPCN, mutations, and lack of confidence of nurses in handwashing and compliance with SOPs because of the workload and number of patients. The study aims to find out the relationship between the characteristics and perceptions of nurses about supervision and prevention and control of infections at Depok HGA Hospital. The research method uses descriptive analytical methods and cross sectional approaches with a total sampling of 71 respondents. The results of the chi square test showed a significant relationship between nurses perceptions of supervision and PPI action (p-value=0.006; CI 95%; OR 4.364). Supervision has proved important in improving the performance of nurses in the prevention and control of infections. Hospital management needs to carry out routine supervision so that the implementation of Infection Prevention and Control becomes a routine for every nurse and can maintain a better condition and safety of patients.
