Abstract

One condition that might raise a mother's risk of morbidity and death after giving birth is postpartum hypertension. Systolic blood pressure of at least 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of at least 90 mmHg are indicative of postpartum hypertension. The purpose of this study is to determine the risk variables for postpartum hypertension in women enrolled at RSIA Budi Kemuliaan in Jakarta. A cross-sectional research design with a retrospective methodology was employed in this study. Purposive sampling was used to choose 153 postpartum moms who formed the research sample. Secondary variables, such as age, education level, employment, parity, type of pregnancy, type of delivery, BMI, and history of hypertension, were collected from medical records. The correlation between these characteristics and the incidence of postpartum hypertension was then ascertained by utilizing the chi square test approach to evaluate the data. The bivariate test findings indicated that age, education level, occupation, parity, the way of delivery, BMI, and history of hypertension were significantly associated with postpartum hypertension (p value <0.05). However, there was no significant association with the type of pregnancy (p value >0.05). Due to this research, it’s hoped that will reduce the probability of developing new postpartum hypertension-related problems.
