Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney failure who experienced mortality in the early period of hemodialysis therapy continued to rise with primary causes of cardiovascular and infectious diseases. However, data on any factors that influence mortality is still very limited. The objective of the study is to analyze factors that influence the high risk of mortality in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis in the first year. The quantitative research used a retrospective method with purposive sampling techniques and a total sample meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 82 respondents. Research instruments use observation sheets. The results of the study obtained age factors (p 0.668), education (p 0,861), frequency of hemodialysis (p 0.680), duration of haemodialise (p 0.659), vascular access (p 0.767) were not associated with mortality risk with a p value > 0.05. Whereas sex factors (p 0.023), IDWG (p 0,031), comorbid (p <0.001), hemoglobin levels (p 0.002), serum creatinine (p. 0.003) and urea levels (p <0.001) were associated with mortality risks with a p value < 0,05. There are 6 out of 11 factors associated with mortality risk in patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing.
