Abstract

Neck pain is common in about 16.6% of adults and causes discomfort, decreased productivity, and work absenteeism. Neck pain symptoms were found in several employees of Diskominfotik DKI Jakarta. This study aims to determine the relationship between biological, behavioral, and psychological factors with neck pain complaints in these employees. This quantitative research used a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all employees at Diskominfotik DKI Jakarta, with a sample of 220 employees selected through simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires that were filled in directly by respondents. The chi-square test was used for data analysis. The results show that 45.5% of employees experienced neck pain complaints. There is a significant relationship between sex (p=0.008), physical activity (p=0.001), sleep quality (p=0.000), depression (p=0.000), anxiety (p=0.000), and stress (p=0.000) with the neck pain complaints, but not with age and smoking habits. In order to reduce the risk of neck pain, employees are advised to adopt healthy behaviors such as regular stretching, adequate sleep, and stress management.
