Abstract

This research aims to analyze and describe the strategies undertaken by Prabowo Subianto in his efforts to transform his political image in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres 2024). The research method used is descriptive qualitative, utilizing both primary and secondary data sources. The researcher employs four stages of data analysis according to Sugiyono, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The final results of this study indicate that Prabowo Subianto applies two main strategies: political marketing strategy and political image transformation strategy. In the political marketing strategy, Prabowo Subianto targets two voter segments: the segment of young and first-time voters (Millennials & Generation Z) and the segment of Joko Widodo's supporters or loyalists, which is expected to provide a multiplier effect on the vote acquisition. Prabowo Subianto then forms a new political image based on the identified segments and characteristics of the targeted voter community, referred to as “Politik Gemoy.”As a result, Prabowo Subianto's political image is markedly different from his previous one. To address this, Prabowo Subianto implements a political image transformation strategy known as the refocusing strategy. This strategy is used by Prabowo Subianto to shift the focus and attention of the voting public from the old image, which contains negative elements and does not align with the characteristics and desires of the majority of voters, to the new image, which contains positive elements and aligns with the characteristics and desires of the majority of voters.
