Abstract

Climate change is one of the main issues of concern to the global community. The banking sector still has a responsibility to preserve the environment. even though it does not directly contribute to environmental pollution, one step that banks can take is to adopt environmentally friendly practices in their operations, which is known as green banking. This research aims to analyze the impact of implementing green banking on the profitability of Commercial Banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019-2023 period. In this research, the implementation of green banking as an independent variable is measured using the Green Banking Disclosure Index (GBDI). Meanwhile, bank profitability as the dependent variable is measured through Return on Assets (ROA). To analyze the relationship between these two variables, a simple regression method is used. The research results show that GBDI has an insignificant negative effect on ROA.
