Abstract
The emergence of many environmental problems has become a special concern for various parties including economic actors. So that the concept of green economy continues to be applied. In the banking sector there is the term Green Banking which seeks to strengthen the risk management capabilities of banks, which are related to the environment, and increase banking in environmentally friendly financing. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, continues to strive for sustainability by supporting the government in achieving zero carbon emissions. This paper aims to analyse the Green Coin Rating indicators in the 2019-2023 BNI green banking program and the impact of green banking implementation on BNI bank profitability. The writing method used is descriptive analysis with data collection techniques through library studies and documentation studies using secondary data from Bank Negara Indonesia's Sustainability Report, Bank Negara Indonesia's Annual report, and experts and practitioners from BI, OJK, related articles / websites, and also journal reports published by previous researchers. The impact of green banking implementation on BNI's profitability during the 2019-2023 period shows an influence on the BOPO ratio which has decreased every year, which is indicated by the implementation of green banking in BNI's operational activities.
