Abstract

This research aims to analyze China's public diplomacy in Indonesia through the presence of the Pusat Bahasa Mandarin (PBM) and the Panda Conservation Program during the 2017-2021 period. The background for conducting this research is a survey from 2017 which shows that China's international image in the perception of the Indonesian people tends to be lower than that of other countries. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The data used comes from primary and secondary sources, including official documents, statistical reports, and interviews with stakeholders engaged in this public diplomacy program. The research results show that three dimensions of public diplomacy—News Management, Strategic Communication, and Relationship Building—can be seen in China's public diplomacy efforts to build their international image in Indonesia through the presence of the Pusat Bahasa Mandarin(PBM) and the Panda Conservation Program
