Abstract

This research is a quantitative study aimed at determining the influence of activity ratios, leverage, and profitability on financial distress. The study utilizes secondary data with a population consisting of property and real estate companies listed on the stock exchanges of Indonesia and Malaysia during the period from 2019 to 2022. The sample used in this study comprises 146 companies with a total of 584 observations, selected using purposive sampling based on predetermined criteria. The hypotheses of this study are tested using logistic regression analysis with Eviews version 12. The results show that (1) activity ratios have a negative influence on financial distress, (2) leverage has a positive influence on financial distress, and (3) profitability has a negative influence on financial distress.
