Abstract

UPN Veteran Jakarta provides various facilities to support student activities, including the campus canteen. A survey in 2024 with 99 UPN Veteran Jakarta students as respondents showed that 80,8% were unaware of the entire menu and 64,6% had difficulty finding the menu, knowing the proce, choosing food, and finding a seat. The crowded canteen resulted in wasted time and an unpleasant experience, especially for students with GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease). As many as 52,5% (52 of 99 students) have experienced GERD and 84,6% (44 of 52 GERD students) have difficulty choosing safe food at the canteen. VR technology is proposed as a solution to provide an interactive simulation of the canteen and food menu. The survey showed that 99% of students agreed with this VR system, and the majority felt that this technology would speed up food selection. In addition, 98% of respondents support the menu recommendation feature for GERD sufferers. This research aims to design and build a 3D VR application for the canteen with a daily food menu recommendation feature for GERD sufferers using a Genetic Algorithm. Genetic Algorithm testing showed that the algorithm provides recommendations close to daily calorie needs with the highest fitness value of 0,005485065 after 55 iterations. Testing was conducted 100 times with consistent results close to calorie requirements. The test results showed that this application successfully helped students, especially those with GERD, in choosing food that suits their condition. UAT (User Acceptance Testing) resulted in a very good usersatisfaction score of 90,38%
