Abstract
This research aims to discuss how the online media Kompas.com and the online media CNN Indonesia.com carry out framing or framing in reporting on the case of damaged roads in Lampung in 2023. The theory used to discuss this research is the framing theory model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The method used is a qualitative research method that uses primary data sources and secondary data sources. The data collection technique was carried out by analyzing documents and documentation contained on the online media page Kompas.com and the online media page CNN Indonesia.com. Researchers used four stages structure of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis model, namely syntactic structure, script structure, thematic structure and rhetorical structure. The results of this research show that framing What online media Kompas.com does is tend to take many angles about the damaged road cases in Lampung, such as personal information about the Governor of Lampung, Arinal Djunaidi, as well as information about the other five provinces with the highest number of damaged roads in Indonesia. Whereas framing conducted by the online media CNN Indonesia.com tends to take just one angle, which focuses on the involvement of government officials in the case of damaged roads in Lampung, such as the financial assistance provided by the central government to the regional government of Lampung, as well as the potential for an investigation by the Corruption Eradication Committee in the road case. damaged in Lampung. Then, both media have also paid attention to aspects of news completeness, such as fulfilling the 5W 1H elements, using images that support the content of the news, using words and idioms that make it easier for news readers to understand the essence of the news.
