Abstract
Pneumonia is a disease that attacks lung tissue, the main cause of which is infection such as viruses, bacteria, fungi. Research Methods: Case study related to surgical medical nursing focusing on pneumonia cases in the Flamboyant Room of South Tangerang General Hospital The method applied is a nursing system that includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing. Results: Nursing problems that occur in the case are: Ineffective airway clearance associated with retained secretions characterized by ineffective coughing, the patient is unable to cough to remove excess secretions and sputum, gas exchange disorders associated with perfusion ventilation imbalance characterized by shortness of breath and decreased PCO2 which is 26.7 mEq / L and Hyperthermia associated with the disease process characterized by a temperature of 38.2 ‘C and the patient's skin feels warm. Conclusion: The application of chest physiotherapy given to pneumonia patients with ineffective airway clearance problems is able to have a significant impact on the release of retained sputum, although the process of release is gradual little by little.
