Abstract

Background : Pneumonia is an acute infection of lung tissue, especially the alveoli, caused by microorganisms. One of the symptoms that arises is shortness of breath due to lack of oxygen due to problems with the airway. Providing the Semi Fowler position and Nebulizer Therapy can help improve problems with oxygenation. Purpose : This case study aims to identify the success of applying the Semi-Fowler position and Nebulizer Therapy to Pneumonia patients to increase the effectiveness of airway clearance. Method : The design of this case study is descriptive with a single case study oriented towards a nursing process approach, where the data collection process is carried out by interviews, observations, physical examinations and documentation studies. Results : The nursing problems that emerged in this case study were ineffective airway clearance, impaired gas exchange, and activity intolerance, with the main actions given being the Semi Fowler position and Nebulizer Therapy. Conclusion : After nursing care, activity intolerance was resolved for 3 days, gas exchange disorders and ineffective airway clearance were not resolved for 4 days.
