Abstract

This study was conducted to present a study entitled "Iran’s strategy against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Syria for the period 2012-2015". The formation of ISIS in Iraq until the entry into Syria has an impact on the interests of the Iranian state in Syria, making it necessary for Iran set strategy. The research question is "How is Iran’s strategy against ISIS in Syria for the period 2012-2015?". To answer these studies, the authors use the theory of strategy to answer the research, theory of alliance to explain the relations between Iran and Syria, and the concept of terrorism to explain the phenomenon of ISIS. The author uses qualitative methods to describe the strategy of Iran in Syria, as well as using data through the library research. The results of this study showed how relations between Iran and Syria to be able to explain the strategy of Iran confronting ISIS in Syria.
