Abstract
to know the relationship between blood pressure with short-term memory function and reaction time of medical students at UPN Veteran Jakarta. Methods: This is an analytical study using cross sectional design. According to WHO classification, the subject was divided into three groups: normotention, hypotention, and high-normotensive. The sample size are 30 subjects in each group which selected from all the students in accordance with the inclusion criteria. For the measurement of short-term memory function are used Digit Span subtest Forward and Backward digit for measurement of reaction time is used Go/No-go Visual Reaction Time Test. The statistical analysis are used Kruskal-Wallis test and PostHoc Mann Whitney test. Results: Digit span forward median score for normotension is 6 (5-8), for hypotension is 6 (5-7), and for high-normotensive is 6 (5-7). Digit span backward median score for normotension is 6 (4-9), for hypotension is 5 (4-7), and for high-normotensive is 5 (4-7). It showed a significant differences on Digit Span Test between normotension and hypotension and between normotension and highnormotensive. The median scores of reaction time in normotension is faster than median score in hypotension and high-normotensive. It showed a significant differences between normotension and hypotension and between hypotension and high-normotensive. Conclusion: There is a differences short-term memory function between hypotension and high-normotensive with normotension and there is a differences in Reaction Time Test between normotension and hypotension but there is no differences between normotension and high-normotesive on it.
