Abstract
Departuring by the phenomenon in the community of Permata Depok Residence, which several times analogizes and simultaneously provides several statements conveying the understanding of productive waqf being implemented by the Yayasan Al Ihsan Permata Depok, is considered an investment. Investment, fundamentally, yields something due to the allocation of certain assets. This understanding brings about a stigma of a new metaphorical interpretation of investment, departing from its original meaning. The method used in this research is qualitative with an interpretive paradigm and an Islamic phenomenological approach. There were three informants in the study with different backgrounds and connections to the waqf program run by the Yayasan Al Ihsan Permata Depok. The research results reveal a new interpretation of investment in terms of the returns obtained, and waqf is seen as having an investment aspect within it. The novelty of this research lies in the topic of productive waqf and its connection to the interpretation of investment, which has not been discussed by researchers before.
