Abstract

This research examines cooperation between Indonesia and India in the palm oil industry for the 2018-2021 period. Case Study: Implementation of MoU on Sustainable Palm Oil Industry. Indonesia is the largest CPO producer in the world, then India is the largest CPO importer to Indonesia. So that's why the two countries entered into an MoU on a sustainable palm oil industry. However, after the ratification of the memorandum of understanding, India's palm oil exports greatly decreased. This study raises research questions. "How is the Indonesia-India Cooperation in the Palm Oil Sector for the 2018-2021 Period within the Framework of the MoU on the Sustainable Palm Oil Industry?" To be able to answer this question the author uses a number of theories and concepts such as Theory of Export Competitiveness and Theory of Bilateral Cooperation. This method uses a descriptive qualitative method, which focuses on the use of primary data derived from interviews and official documents as well as other secondary data to support discussion and understanding of this research. This research was conducted to find out about the potential conditions of Indonesian palm oil, forms of cooperation between Indonesia and India in the implementation of the MoU, and to find out the existing obstacles and how to overcome them.
