Abstract
The high percentage of female voters for the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in the 2019 Legislative Election in Depok City is a form of women's awareness to play a role in the political sphere. This thesis examines the political role of female cadres of the Prosperous Justice Party in optimizing women's political participation through empowerment programs in Depok City after the 2019 election. The purpose of this research is to see how the role of female PKS cadres and whether the RKI program can increase non-electoral political participation of women. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data was collected through interviews and observations. The subjects of this study were PKS cadres in Depok and the local community, especially women involved in the Indonesian Family House program. The theory used in this research is the theory of women's roles in politics. The research findings show that the involvement of female cadres in PKS Depok City through the RKI program has been able to increase women's awareness in Depok City, as evidenced by the increase in the number of female cadres in PKS from 2021 to 2023. This research identifies driving and inhibiting factors for female PKS cadres in Depok in performing their roles as party cadres. Factors that drive female PKS cadres in Depok in performing their roles include: 1) The role of women in politics, which requires a minimum of 30% representation of women in party leadership, 2) The party's mandate to perform PKS functions as a service-oriented and empowering party, 3) Support for the implementation of Depok City Regulation No. 9 of 2017 on Family Resilience. The obstacles encountered during the program include: 1) The practice of money politics, 2) Required costs, 3) Limited acceptance of the party in some RKI points, 4) Apathetic attitude of the community. The driving forces and obstacles in implementing the RKI program do not limit the female PKS cadres from continuing to carry out their party's vision and mission, resulting in PKS's consistency receiving positive views from the people of Depok. Through this flagship program, PKS has been able to attract an increasing number of female cadres over the years.
