Abstract

This study aims to examine the responsibilities of TikTok content providers regarding the promotion of pirated films through the TikTok application and analyze law enforcement efforts against cinematographic copyright infringement related to uploading pirated films through the TikTok application by content creators. The research method used is a juridical normative legal research method using a statutory approach and a conceptual approach. The results of the study indicate that the responsibility of Tiktok content providers for uploading pirated films is by actively blocking user accounts. As for law enforcement related to violations of cinematographic copyright owners, it is not implemented properly in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws, this is suspected by the rise of content creators uploading pirated films on the Tiktok application. To prevent the upload of pirated films, the government's efforts are to provide education about copyright infringement related to uploading pirated films to the public as a whole and the efforts made by tiktok content providers, namely to make policies containing sanctions related to copyright infringement as implemented by the youtube application.
